Student ADDY Awards Competition!

The AAF Student ADDY Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed specially for college students. Work entered at your local level can move up to the regional and national judging, just like the work entered by professionals across the country. Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter. Submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry).

National winning entries may receive the following:

  • Finalist certificate—great for résumés and portfolios
  • Prestigious Student ADDY Award for first-place winners
  • $1,000 cash prize for National Best of Show winner

Mid-Year Retreat moved to January

Due to the busy schedules of everyone over the last couple of months, the cost of airfare and delays on getting attendee numbers together we have decided to postpone the National Ad 2 retreat until January 2007. The following email was sent last week by Chad Gennow, Chair, National Ad 2 regarding this change.

National Ad 2 Retreat in Orlando Florida
November 13, 2006

As most of you may or may not know the Ad 2 mid- year retreat has been rescheduled for January. This decision was made so that all of you will have time to raise money and budget to attend. It will also allow the national board to plan a more valuable retreat to all of you and your local Ad 2 clubs. Look out for a member and president survey coming soon!

This retreat should be a great event that will not only enable you to mingle with other Ad 2 members from across the country, but it will also offer you a lot of information that has not been available in the past.

Look for topics like:
  • How to succeed in the Public Service Competition
  • How to be a better speaker and sell your topic
  • Club Management 101 and 901
  • Budget and Finance for a better tomorrow

Please mark your calendars with the new dates, January 19th and 20th in Orlando, Florida. A detailed Agenda, emails and web destination will follow as we near the date.If you have any questions in the meantime feel free to contact myself or anyone on the executive board.

In an effort to help build more awareness of Ad 2 and our purpose please keep and eye out for additional materials and information on the support that we offer to you at the local level.
